Statement:
This project emerges as both a pedagogical platform and a research-driven mechanism, designed to foster environments with the critical modes of theoretical reflection cultivated in the university setting. Recognizing the urgent necessity for a dialogic exchange within education, the initiative resists the reduction of either practice or theory to a mere service function. Instead, it positions them as interlocutors—mutually agitating, interrogating, and enriching the surfaces of each other’s methodologies.
Building on this foundation, the project developed within the Photography Department at LCI Barcelona takes these pedagogical commitments further by critically interrogates the pluralities of art histories, foregrounding the multiplicity of narratives, methodologies, and positionalities that shape our engagement with
